Position overview:

As a Business Intelligence Analyst (Analytics Engineer), you're expected to develop data engineering pipelines, creating the ideal framework for the analytical environment with reliable, up-to-date, and organized data, as well as building data warehouses/analytical environments.

It's also expected as part of the role's responsibilities to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and development routines for Pacifica Continental's servers, develop the company's Lakehouse, manage the orchestration and security of engineering processes, develop ETL in SQL, Python, SparkSQL, PySpark, PDI, or Power Query, develop robotic process automations and/or web scraping and support the needs of the business areas.


How your routine will look like in Pacifica:

  • Maintain and customize all Pacifica's Cloud resources (Servers, Virtual Machines, Active Directory, Web Apps, App Service Plans, Logic-apps...);
  • Act as a database administrator on our servers, making business corrections as necessary (Azure SQL-Server);
  • Develop data engineering pipelines in one or more of the following languages/tools: SQL, Python, SparkSQL, PySpark, Pentaho Data Integration, Azure Data Factory, Data Flows Gen2...;
  • Management of pipeline orchestration and data governance;
  • Provide support and consultancy to Pacifica's internal areas, being a reference in process improvement as well as decision-making support.


Must haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or related field;
  • Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role for at least one year;
  • Dashboard development knowledge – Power BI;
  • Knowledge of data architecture and modeling in at least one of these concepts: Data warehouses, data lakehouses, medallion architecture, relationships, typing...;
  • Knowledge of data engineering in at least one of these tools: Azure Data Factory, MS Fabric notebook or Databricks, Data Flows Gen2, Pentaho Data Integration;
  • Proficiency in the following programming language is a must have – T-SQL;
  • Proficiency in the following programming languages are a plus - Python, M, SparkSQL, PySpark;
  • Azure infrastructure knowledge in at least one of these tools: (SQL Servers, Virtual Machines, Microsoft Entra, Web Apps, App Service Plans, Logic-apps, Azure Monitor...);
  • Microsoft Certifications PL300, DP900, DP600, AZ900 are a plus;
  • Advanced level of English is a must. Spanish or portuguese is a plus;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams;
  • Motivation to work in a multicultural environment.
