CHRO - Healthcare and Life Sciences
As CHRO, you will lead the human capital strategy, fostering a culture of engagement and inclusivity and aligning HR practices with the organization’s goals within the healthcare and life sciences sectors.
Human Capital Strategy and Leadership:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that aligns with business goals and fosters engagement and inclusivity.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, executive team, and board on HR matters, including talent acquisition, development, retention, and succession planning.
• Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to ensure a welcoming and compliant workplace.
Talent Acquisition and Retention:
• Oversee recruitment, staffing, and retention strategies with a focus on attracting top healthcare and life sciences talent.
• Implement programs to reduce turnover, enhance employee satisfaction, and create career development pathways for clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Develop partnerships with academic institutions and healthcare associations to build robust talent pipelines.
Employee Development and Engagement:
• Design and implement training, development, and leadership programs to advance clinical, scientific, and administrative talent.
• Promote a positive employee experience and engagement through surveys, feedback sessions, and recognition programs.
• Oversee the performance management process, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
Compensation and Benefits Management:
• Develop and manage competitive compensation structures, health benefits, retirement plans, and other incentives tailored to healthcare industry needs.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare labor laws, including HIPAA and OSHA, and manage employee health and wellness initiatives.
• Regularly benchmark compensation and benefits to remain competitive and retain top healthcare talent.
Compliance, Risk Management, and Safety:
• Ensure HR policies comply with healthcare regulations, labor laws, credentialing standards, and patient safety requirements.
• Oversee employee health and safety programs, addressing risk areas such as workplace injury and patient interaction protocols.
• Lead crisis management and workforce readiness for emergencies, including health outbreaks or natural disasters.
Organizational Culture and Change Management:
• Act as a change agent, supporting organizational transformation and maintaining a resilient culture in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Lead communication and change management efforts, ensuring clarity around organizational changes, especially those impacting clinical and research staff.
Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.
• Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or related) and/or certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) are highly preferred.
Experience:
• 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within healthcare, life sciences, or a highly regulated industry.
• Proven senior HR leadership experience (e.g., VP of HR) with expertise in workforce planning, talent development, and compliance management.
Industry Knowledge and Regulatory Compliance:
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare and life sciences regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, OSHA, and credentialing standards.
• Familiarity with clinical environments and unique HR challenges, including compliance with patient care standards and healthcare worker safety.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading large HR teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and engage clinical, scientific, and executive teams.
Technical and Analytical Skills:
• Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP) and data-driven HR practices.
• Advanced skills in strategic planning, workforce analytics, and change management.
Cultural Sensitivity and Change Management:
• Commitment to DEI and employee engagement, with experience in culture-building and promoting positive work environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex change initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
