Job Details
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
  • Travel: Minimum of 60% travel in multi-state regions; drive or fly depending on distance.
  • Location: Employee is expected to work at the Technical Center when not visiting customers.
  • Type of Employment: Full-time/Permanent.
  • Salary: Defined after the interview based on your qualifications and expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to establish clear goals for the local engineering staff and ensure the deliverables are clearly defined with overall effective risk management.
  • Ability to review, understand and provide technical directions for time estimates and turnkey projects.
  • Engineer, execute and trouble shoot complex manufacturing and machining processes utilizing DMG MORI processes, systems and knowledge centers.
  • Understanding of DMG MORI Caps conversational, at least one high end multi-axis CAM System, GCode, MCode, Macro programming, Shop Mill and Shop Turn systems.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and direct local engineering staff for execution.
  • Understand basic P&L statements and manage project costs for the local office.
  • Demonstrate the ability to create and deliver high level technical presentations to customers, engineering staff, sales staff, suppliers and management.
  • Demonstrate a high level of analytical and problem solving abilities and the ability to convey the results to customers and management.
  • Understand work holding design to support for local support.
  • Manage resources to achieve required due dates for projects and direct other engineers on processes and procedures.
  • Provide Weekly schedules to all VP’s and ASM’s of other AE’s assignments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, or 10 years application engineering experience.
  • Advanced understanding of cutting tools and cutting technologies.
  • Knowledge of machine tool control systems such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Heidenhain.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands
  • Frequent: Travel, operating a vehicle, sitting at desk, utilizing computers and phones, standing, and walking.
  • Periodic: Operating power equipment. Repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements.
  • Occasional: Bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling. Lifting or moving up to 50lbs.
